With heavy hearts, we have cancelled our wedding celebration due to Covid-19. However, we are happy to share that we were married in a small backyard ceremony witnessed by our immediate families on June 13, 2020. We look forward to someday in the future when we can celebrate our union with y'all. Until then, stay safe & be well.
We met on March 18, 2017 when a dear mutual friend, Samantha Ledbetter, invited us to brunch before Jackson's big St. Paddy's day parade. Neil suggested we watch the parade from his office building's balcony, and we spent the rest of the day batting our eyes at each other until Neil built up the courage to ask for my number. We went on our first date two days later, and the rest is history. Neil works in political consulting and moved to Jackson after graduating from Ole Miss in 2016. When we met, I was a marketing director at the Mississippi State Medical Association. I had great coworkers and a great job, but I wasn't satisfied. Neil encouraged me to pursue my dream of being a teacher--something I'll always be incredibly grateful for! I've been teaching 5th grade English at a public charter school in Jackson for almost three years now. Neil proposed to me in the most perfect way possible. He showed up during my 6th period class with a surprise: Ring Pops for my students! After we finished passing them out, he announced that he had one more ring to give. He got down on one knee and proposed to me in front of my students, coworkers, and best friend who showed up to photograph the big moment.
